Are you charging as much as you would like to? Are you making the kind of profits you feel you deserve? If you are, you can stop reading right now, this will be of zero interest to you!!!
If you’re still reading then let me remind you of something… I’m a Direct Response PT Website Expert! Which means people trust me – I have built a reputation for helping PT business owners like you increase their prices and their profits.
I’m not telling you that to impress you… I’m just stating a fact. I get to work with some of the world’s best PT business owners who are happy to pay for the services my team provide and absolutely love having us as “part of their team”. Why? Because I’ve worked with Paul Gough for so many years learning all about what works when it comes to building PT websites. I became an expert and I position myself as such in all of my marketing activities.
And you should be doing the same. Do you refer to yourself as “The leading Physical Therapist” in your region? I seriously hope you do, and if you don’t… why don’t you? You see it’s not just about whether you claim to be the best or the most trustworthy or whether you have the most awards or certificates on your walls or the best core values printed and framed on the waiting room wall… it’s HOW PEOPLE PERCEIVE YOU that really matters.
And you can influence people’s perception of you and your business pretty easily just by writing regular blog posts. Simple as that! (Well, almost as simple as that)…
There is absolutely no excuse for you not doing this AND capitalizing on it!
All you need is the inspiration and the platform.
You should already have the platform if you have a website built with WordPress and if you do then you should be utilizing it. If you don’t have a WordPress website then you can still sign yourself up for a free WordPress blog and get writing today! Or you could use Blogger – it really doesn’t matter, just so long as you have a platform. And when I say that you can get writing today, I do mean literally TODAY! No matter which platform you choose, you can be set up within a few minutes and you can have your first “article” published and in front of your perfect patients later today.
What should you blog about?
This is a question I often get asked by clients before they get started with a blog and really there isn’t a right or wrong answer. My advice is this: write a mix of health education topics and some general interest stuff. Keep a list of all the questions your patients (and family, friends etc.) ask you during the week and pick one to answer each week (blog more frequently if you wish but weekly is good if you’re pushed for time) and try to write a few hundred words as longer posts tend to rank higher on search engines (but that is NOT the primary goal of the blog). Vary your posts between 300 and 1000+ words if you can. You want to get your posts read by your target audience (your perfect patient) so always write with THEM in mind and then share it on your business Facebook page and your personal Facebook page and any other social networks that you use!
And when you’re done sharing it, send a broadcast email to all your contacts – this can be a great way of reactivating past patients.
Also, make sure whoever is talking to prospects on the phone is aware that you have a library of helpful (and authoritative) blog posts that they can pick from whenever they feel an additional “touch point” is required.
Here are my top tips for creating blog posts that people will read, like and share…
#1 – Choose good quality stock images if you don’t have any suitable photos of your own and if possible embellish them with some text to personalize them. Use photos featuring people (especially smiling) if possible.
#2 – Mix it up! Use video sometimes (and provide a transcript for people who prefer to read). The video doesn’t have to be anything fancy, just you talking, recorded on your phone will do fine!
#3 – Put some effort into making it visually appealing. People often skim-read blogs so try to catch their attention by breaking up large chunks of text with headings, bullets, images and bold or colored text.
Bonus tip: make sure you have your Facebook pixel installed on your blog so that everyone who reads your blog gets pixeled. You can target them later with an ad campaign on Facebook!
Blogging regularly has many benefits – being perceived as an expert is just one of them… a very important one. Experts can CHARGE MORE and they attract more compliant patients who are happy to pay higher prices and who tend to stay on schedule for their full plan of care!
So if you’re not writing a weekly blog and sharing it all over the place…. make a commitment right now to start doing it this week! Remember, you can sign up for a free blog with WordPress.com or Blogger and start blogging right away, there is NO excuse for not doing this!!!
